TRAVEL TIPS

January through May (the Spring season), is likely the best time to visit. Temperatures live in the 60-80 degree range. The summer weather is hotter, however the rain storms are generally short, heavy, and can be considered ‘monsoons’ that are able to uproot trees. The winter rain tends to be lighter and lasts longer – and is also less dangerous.

Puerto Penasco is located just 60 miles from the US border and 3.5 hours from major cities, if you are looking for day trip.

The Sea of Cortes is also known as the 'Gulf of California,' as it is bordered by the states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, and Sinaloa.

Mexican auto insurance is required for all vehicles, including rental vehicles. So be prepared to pay for that if you are interested in renting a car during your vacation.
